havent watched Hockey since l was 9 years old. Suddenly for the last year, l have been watching hockey non stop....but l have been feeling detached from the team that l grew up loving: The Canadiens.
The players seem foreign, the fans/city does not spark anything to me anymore. (l moved away as a kid of 8, im 22 now)

Seeing the Habs in the playoffs last year was exciting but not emotional or heart breaking. Guess there is a feeling of not really knowing any habs fans (l know me knowing many Raptors fans helps my connection to the team, l know l can celebrate with them when the times come).

But is it even possible to rekindle a love for a team? Do l just watch games enough until l get the ''feeling'' back?
because l definately wanna follow them. Love the jerseys, history. all of it. Just feels odd after so long l guess.
BTW , dont live in MTL. l live in Toronto. Since l was about 8-9

start waching only their games. get a favorite player or look up stats for them. get tickets and see games live with a friend. it will cum back eventually

well maybe you should go to a few games. l am pretty sure it is near impossible to get tickets, but if you can find some tickets, the whole atmosphere of the city and the arena, will come back and maybe some childhood memories

Since u live in Toronto, just cheer for the Leafs for a couple of seasons & believe u me, after the amount of suffering u will endure during that time u will love ANY other team but Toronto!

l have cheered for them FORTY YEARS!! YES!! 40 ong, Painful, Torturous, Self-Mutilating, T.V. Destroying, Hockey Depression ridden years!
They last won the cup in 1967, l got hooked on them because they were not supposed to have a chance to win it & l loved Johnny Bower as the best goalie I'd ever seen, so l figured with NHL expansion that they'd be beating up on the new teams & it would not be long before they won another cup.
Oh how l have SUFFERED! 41 years & no more Cups. 41 years of jokes & putdowns & big game losses. 41 years of some of the worst hockey 'teams' l have ever seen & some of the worst player deals in the history of SPORTS!
And the saddest thing is l am still hooked on them!

So that is my answer. Cheer for the Toronto Make Believes for one season & u will be so happy to get back to the Canadiens that u will cry for weeks.

Watch Every Games Get a Jersey and You should proud to say Mike Komisarek, Alexei Kovalev, Andrei Markov and Carey Price all of them Starters for the All Star Game plus 100 Years and 24 Stanley Cups you gotta start liking the Habs again.

we have the best up and coming goalie in the league l have been a habs fan for as long as l can remember l live just out side of T.O so if you do not have and NHL Center Ice package with your cable / Satellite its hard to see most of the games but you can listen to every game for free http://canadiens.nhl.com/index.html

If u live in Toronto, familiarize yourself with the nearby Hamilton Bulldogs. Most of them r already called up to Montreal while they battle a rash of injuries anyway & when the future superstars that they have down there r called up full-time, u will feel like a proud parent, having watched them grow up from young boys in the prospect system to NHL all-stars.

They've got a very young team & a lot of highly talented youngsters on the rise in the next few years, they will be adding a few more very shortly in blueliners PK Subban (currently playing for Belleville in the OHL) & McDonough for example. Pacioretty looks like a power forward with a lot of upside to him as well.
