Not aware of any NHL coaches being fired mid-game.
The closest thing l am aware of is the Ballard paper bag incident.


Late in the 1978-79 season owner Ballard forced G.M. Gregory to fire coach Roger Neilson.
The players lobbied to have Neilson reinstated. Ballard reinstated him after a few days later but wanted Neilson to return to the bench with a bag on his head; Neilson declined the paper bag but was back on as head coach.
