The Stanley Cup winner vs an all-star team made up of the rest of the league is all-stars for that new season. It is been done before. What is your take on the idea or what do you propose?
Not saying ''I'' would prefer this scenario, just a proposal thrown out there. For some, l do not think you understand the idea. For example, the Wings won last year and would face this years all-stars in Montreal and keep the game outdoors. Some have also said that it would not work because of one extra game for the Cup winner would not be taken kindly by the SC Champs, however, you want a match up that includes the best talent, not the most popular guys as we see so often nowadays. This match up would be more competitive than the normal all star game. You can argue that the extra game or injury, but what is the difference if 2or 4 teams travel overseas for exhibition or season opening games? There is always the opportunity for injury or even worse by way of travel etc.
Kate as a player who gets traded or signed else where in the off-season, what would be the issue of that player representing his former team or his new team in this type of format?
Injuries can be looked over as reserves to replace like current. Alternate the games between Canada and the US. keep the game outside and maye play a game every other year in a nuetral site A format like this might draw more attention to the game and likely grow the fan base. Did anyone ever sit back and say ''l wonder how a team of all stars would fair against the SC Champs?
l know it would pose a problem as far as scheduling, but something could be worked out.
And todays all-star game is not a joke? The current format is old and stale. Guys turn down the opportunity sometimes for fear of injury etc.

Probablly would never happen, almost sure it won't. But that would be awesome.

If you really want mess things up, put 2 rival teams together against another combined team. Put like Pittsburgh and Philly together against Toronto and Habs. Ha l have no clue do not listen to me just shouting out ideas off the top of my head.

the only thing l can think of that would be terrible to some people is if the slapped together team of 'all-stars' beat the LSC winners majorly. that and it would have to be in june.

Pick two teams and make it count as a regular season game! (Exactly how it is right now)

It will not happen in today is NHL. They way that players go from team to team these days would make that next to impossible . Not to mention the fact the extra game for the championship team. l think the NHLPA would have a true fit about it .

What if it were the Ducks against the Panthers? Would they all go to Wrigley Field to play? When . in June? l thought the idea of an outdoor ice rink is awesome. l am not sure how this would work.

l prefer to watch a game that has meaning to it, not some gimmick game trying to get people to watch. Your idea would only be an exhibition, and have no impact on the standings, which makes it pointless. Sorry, l like it the way it is, and dont feel the need to change things for some sort of silly game.

Why not make the all-star game be the Winter Classic?

As late as the Stanley Cup finals go (June), it would never work. The game would have to be played in Antarctica or the North Pole if they wanted to have ice.

l think it is a good idea and would draw a lot of fans, but l doubt it wil ever work.

Red Wings numero uno! Did u see the game on Sunday played at Wrigley Field outside? Red Wings won against their long time rival Chicago Blackhawks! The game was different but the camera angles outside were not so good.
l think that no one even considers injuries. They r part of the game & any sport. Suck it up guys. We have the All Star game & some of our team is on opposites sides & they r chosen as the best, so it is not an easy game. It would be cool with me & yes there r ice rinks indoors that can keep the ice cold enough. That is the same thing as the playoff games that r played into June & sometimes near July. It would be a great game to watch!! Bring it on! Go Wings!
If a player is afraid of injuries, he is just in it for the money & not playing with his heart.
l still hate the shoot out rule as it is unfair. It is not team play.
