how was that not called off!? His armpit and stick were clearly over the cross bar when he tipped the knuckle puck in. how can that be called a goal!? bad call by the refs and the war room guys in Toronto
did you see Crosby rush over to the refs, must have slipped the guy a $20, eh?

It looked high, but l had zero doubt that he was going to be awarded the goal.
It was a close call & the ref called it good on the ice. No way Crosby does not get that call given the circumstances. The only reason it was not a slam dunk was because they were on the road.
Now, what l personally loved - pure sarcasm, read with tongue firmly in cheek - was that Crosby went over to the refs & tried to explain how/why it was indeed a ''good'' goal. The kid just rubs me the wrong way, what can l say.

l thought l heard the ref say it was a good goal cause the puck wasnt touched by the high stick ( l swear l heard him say that) . if that was the case, then it is a goal and it should have been Malkins goal! Right? Or am l high and didnt hear the ref call it that way when he awarded it a good goal?

It does not matter what the viewers think, the refs still awarded the Pens the goal.
Zapcity - Captains talk to refs. That is a power they hold with being deamed a captain.

No way was that a goal. How can they not call that a high stick? Then again, it is Crosby and he always gets his way.

l do not for the most part. l thought that his stick WAS too high. but the VERY moment the puck hit it, & WHERE it hit the stick, it was below the crossbar. His stick was angled. It hit the bottom of the shaft, almost the heel, l think. Which was dipped lower than the crossbar, again, at an angle.
^^^^ l bet a video would prove that. BUT, it was close, I'd say.
l knew there'd be a question about this though---you guys whine more than Sid! HA! :b
Wow. Since SID touched the puck last. & HE'S the CAPTAIN, why should not HE have been the one talking to the ref?? When a goal is under review or a play, it is USUALLY the captains who talk to the refs.
ADD: Sigh. l wonder if l sound like the Pens homer amongst all of you? A lot of u talk about the bandwagon fans or the favoritism by the league & media. but on here, l feel like the majority does not like Sid. Fine with me though.

Dan Marouelli, who is senile and Justin St-Pierre who is a little kid who should still be doing bantam hockey.
The call makes sense now.

thinking the same exact thing, it definitely was ATLEAST parallel to the ice if not higher., but what could you do.. no use in getting mad over it.. its just crosby is same old antics running to the refs to tell 'his side of the story' haha. whatever.. so overrated.

l never actually heard the call on the ice but l did not think there was conclusive evidence either way. They ruled it was deflected by the Sabres player ( l think Stafford) though it looked like Crosby to me. It was too close to call that far from the net
But hey Buffalo gets screwed, what else is new
edit: l swear l heard the ref say stafford hit the puck & that is why it counted. if that is true it is Malkin is goal. Still it saids Crosby got it
l need to see it again but l wo not be able to untill the 11:00 news shows it

l felt it was way, way no way a goal. The only bad thing was the ref was in a great spot to call it. So l guess we cant argue that. his point blank first reaction was goal. Then Toronto seconded the motion. & Trust me l could care less if Sid broke his goalless streak.

It was a 50/50 call.
And in 50/50 calls. if there is no exclusive evidence to overturn it well, they have to go with the original call.
Oh boo hoo, a lot of people whining about him going over to the refs. Who are the ones whining now? Stop b!tching about it, that is what captains do. Sheesh, what hypocrites.
