Hey all..I've been contemplating this thought for a long time now but can never find an answer or way into it..I've been playing hockey since l was 10 years old and today l am 19 still having played all these years along with high school hockey experience..I'd like to find a way to get into the draft but do not know how to. If anybody has any knowledge of this please fill me in.

If you were worthy, you wouldnt be asking this, scouts would be all over watching and evaluating you. If you were decent enough to take a chance on, you would have been taken 4th thru 7th round at age 18! Sorry, but at age 19, your chances of getting drafted are slim, and they went down when you asked this Question on ! Occasionally a guy named Hakan Andersson finds an ''elder'' guy in Sweden known to make the Wings, but not often.

You do not get into the draft, the scouts find you. Those guys u see sitting in the arena during the draft r the guys who r guaranteed a top 60ish pick.

By the way, it does not look like you've ever played in a legit junior hockey league. Maybe u should be focusing more on that then the NHL.

Do not despair though. Many players have gotten to the NHL by getting invitations to training camp. Alexandre Burrows is a prime example. He played in the West Coast Hockey League for years, & even played in the international ball-hockey league (which his team won a couple times in a row).

My point is that u have options, u just have to work for them though.

If you are 19 and were not drafted this year, you are better off trying the free agency route, unless you are a goalie. The system is screwed against free agent goalies. Look to attend an open tryout.
